The article is titled: Developers Selling Fracking Rights Without Homeowners Knowing It. It's been a while since I watched the video so I have no idea if this is covered in it but it is well worth a read. The link is: http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_28511.cfmAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29676463.post-58733707598824023842013-09-14T09:45:54.295+12:002013-09-14T09:45:54.295+12:00I think many people would feel the same, but their...I think many people would feel the same, but their lives are so busy they don't actually have the time to stop and look at what's going on. I often think of writing about these things but I find myself wondering who will want to read what "I" have written (I'm no expert), and where/how would I publish it. But, I guess it's like the stone thrown into a pond. It greats a ripple effect. To that end, I did have a number of posts on Facebook, but closed down my account (not that you can ever close down a Facebook account) because I felt, even though I was careful about the language I used, I wasn't sure how this would affect my getting work in the future. Especially, since Facebook keeps changing their privacy laws. I do feel, however, that I did create a ripple effect in that I began to notice people who had previously said I was talking rubbish suddenly started posting stuff that was relevant to my posts. I closed my account feeling satisfied I'd created the effect I was looking to create. That is, people were beginning to take notice and realise that these things are actually happening. Woohoo, results :-)Veranoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29676463.post-82248261125581635882013-09-13T11:02:46.502+12:002013-09-13T11:02:46.502+12:00On the contrary, Vera, that's exactly the kind...On the contrary, Vera, that's exactly the kind of response I was hoping for. Watching the Gasland documentary made me so furious that I immediately wanted to do something. And it occurred to me that even writing a blogpost about it might have the effect of drawing it to other people's attention, however trivial an act it might seem in itself.Dr Jack Rosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01805945600952222957noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29676463.post-52129048516173774122013-09-13T10:30:53.801+12:002013-09-13T10:30:53.801+12:00Really fantastic to see this being talked about. I...Really fantastic to see this being talked about. I have very strong opinions on all that's going on, whether it be fracking, mining, drilling, spraying, killing off the bees, geo-engineering or any of a number of other exploitative ventures. Most people have no idea what fracking is or what the consequences of it are. The same can be said for geo-engineering. It's like where all Guinea pigs. They are spraying us, the sea and air, the land and the waterways, with large doses of Barium and Aluminium and we have no say in it. It makes me angry, sad and generally frustrated to see these big corporations and governments working together to run roughshod over us all. Until recently, much of this stuff has been relegated to the realms of conspiracy theory, but thanks to the internet, more and more people are starting to see what's really going on and things like geo-engineering to "block out the sun" in an effort to, supposedly, minimise global warming is no longer being denied by governments. I have done a lot of research and, this, I'm afraid, is not even the tip of the iceberg. If you would prefer not to publish this little rant (actually, I prefer to think of it as being passionate :-)) I completely understand. Thanks Jack, VeraAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29676463.post-38911512994637644042013-03-04T00:24:56.489+13:002013-03-04T00:24:56.489+13:00This is just to say - I haven't read this yet ...This is just to say - I haven't read this yet -but it looks very interesting, so I will soon.
